CONSUMER COMPLAINTS (FILING A COMPLIANT)

Why Should You File A Complaint?

The mission of the Nevada State Board of Dispensing Opticians is to protect the public’s health, safety, and welfare. It is only through the action of concerned citizens like yourself that the board becomes aware of potential violations of the laws governing dispensing opticians and apprentice opticians.

What If You’re Not Sure If The Law Has Been Violated?

If you’re unsure whether your concern is a violation of law, please email the Board office at info@nvopticians.org.

What Happens After You File A Complaint?

Once the board receives your complaint, it will determine if there has been any violation of Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) Chapter 637 or Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) Chapter 637. If evidence is gathered establishing a violation, formal and public charges may be brought by the board against an optician, an apprentice optician, or an unlicensed individual or business.

You may be contacted by a representative of the board during the board’s investigation. After the investigation is complete, you will be notified of any and all actions the board takes regarding your complaint.
