License renewal for 2023 begins December 15th. Please read the following instructions before beginning your application.
Apprentices
Please determine if you are eligible to renew your license according to your license issue date, then follow the instructions. The deadline to submit your complete renewal application and fee is 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2023.
Issue Date: Prior to October 1, 2019 - not eligible for 2023 license renewal*
Apprenticeship completion deadline: Deadline passed by 1/31/23
Instructions: *Your license will permanently expire 1/31/23 but you are still eligible to apply for a Dispensing Optician License once you complete any remaining apprenticeship requirements. Log into your account and go to the Forms tab to apply
Issue Date: Between October 1, 2019 and October 31, 2022
Apprenticeship completion deadline: 40 months from issue date
Instructions: You are eligible to renew your license for 2022. Log in to your account here and go to the Forms tab to access the renewal application.
Issue Date: On or after November 1, 2022
Apprenticeship completion deadline: 40 months from issue date
Instructions: You will not be charged a renewal fee for the 2023 license term, but you do need to submit a renewal application. Please look for an email notification with instructions for new licenses.
Opticians
Issue date: Prior to November 1, 2022
Deadlines: The deadline to submit your complete 2023 renewal application, continuing education credits, and fee is 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2023. CE credits must be earned by December 31, 2022; applications with post-dated credits will incur a delinquency fee. Log in to your account and go to the Forms tab to access your application.
Issue date: On or after November 1, 2022
Deadline: You will not be charged a renewal fee for the 2023 license term, but you do need to submit a renewal application by January 31, 2023 to avoid a delinquency fee. Please look for an email notification with instructions for new licenses.
